Branched Out

BRANCHED OUT 2020 WAS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19, BUT WE'LL BE BACK IN 2021 BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER!

Branched Out is proudly brought to you by Arb Aus and is the richest and biggest tree climbing event in the world. In 2019 over 150 climbers from 14 nations battled it out for cash and prizes worth $75,000.

Branched Out is an open format freestyle competition based entirely on speed. The rules are kept simple, but with a strong focus on safety. The event is open to anyone with tree climbing, rock climbing, or rope access experience willing to give it a go. We welcome the wider arboriculture community and our world-class crew love to help those new to the industry, or with limited climbing experience, join in and compete.

Starting in 2017, this competition has grown every year and has a reputation for being uniquely Australian. Set amongst beautiful river red gums in rural locations it has a fun and relaxed atmoshphere and brings the arboriculture and local community together for an amazing time.

We're planning an even bigger and better Branched Out when we return in 2021 - see you there!

More about Branched Out

Unfortunately Branched Out 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19.

The next Branched Out event in Australia will be in October 2021. The location and further details are to be confirmed, but watch this space!

Branched Out is held in a different town each year. Our selectors look for a competition site along a watercourse with multiple river red gums (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) that can be used for competition.

We prioritise regional areas where the local economy can benefit from the crowd that Branched Out attracts. In 2019, Kapunda, South Australia hosted Branched Out and reported a $400,000 boost to their economy as a direct result of this event. In 2018, with fewer competitors, Wellington, New South Wales reported a $300,000 economy boost.

We also enjoy bringing our competitors to places less known and providing them with the chance to see regional Australia. Likewise, it is our privilege to provide regional Australia with a unique, fun event that showcases the amzing climbing skills involved in arboriculture.

Any climber can compete in Branched Out. You just need to buy your ticket and register, which you can do from this website.

In Australia Branched Out is held in October with tickets and registration usually available from May.

Due to COVID-19, the next Branched Out will be in 2021.
