The Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a number of Independently Contracted TRAQ Trainers to support delivery of International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) TRAQ training programs nationally. This is a unique opportunity for experienced arborists and educators to share their expertise in tree risk assessment with professionals across Australia. Arboriculture Australia takes care of all venue arrangements, participant registrations, and catering, so trainers can focus entirely on delivering engaging, high-quality training experiences.
Location / Travel Requirements
TRAQ programs are offered nationally, providing opportunities to travel to deliver training across Australia. Trainers may alternatively choose to deliver programs in their home state.
Key Responsibilities
As a TRAQ Trainer, you will be responsible for:
Delivering High-Quality Training: Provide engaging, well-structured training that meets ISA TRAQ requirements.
Teaching Risk Assessment: Instruct participants on the systematic process for assessing tree risk.
Learner Assessment & Feedback: Offer timely, supportive feedback and assess competency in accordance with ISA TRAQ standards.
Knowledge & Professional Development: Stay current with training trends, best practices, and subject matter expertise to ensure accurate and effective training.
Logistics & Administration: Prepare for training sessions, manage logistics, and maintain records of training activities and participant progress.
Experience and Qualifications
ISA-Approved Instructor for ISA TRAQ™ or willingness to undertake the Qualification Instructor Apprenticeship Program (QIAP). Information on the QIAP can be found by clicking here
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a qualification at the Diploma or Degree level that has been recognised as an equivalent or higher qualification
Demonstrated qualifications and expertise as an Arborist and conducting tree risk assessment using ISA TRAQ methodology
Experience conducting at least three tree risk assessments using the ISA TRAQ methodology
Recognised public speaking or teaching experience to adult learners in face-to-face, virtual, or hybrid environments
