Leesa is a Senior Compliance Officer, Line Clearance at Victoria’s safety regulator for electricity, gas and pipelines; Energy Safe Victoria. With a background in electrical engineering and forest science she has worked in roles within the vegetation management industry for over 30 years.

Her current role includes regulating Responsible Persons for compliance with Vicotria’s Electricity Safety legislation. Experienced in the management of utility line clearance contracts and vegetation management crews across the country, prior to joining Energy Safe in 2016.

Streamlining processes for ELC vegetation workers makes sense –harmonising safe approach distances simplifies the framework for people in the field when working in different network areas across the country. A significant challenge in doing so will be ensuring compliance with different regulatory regimes and maintaining safety.
