Martin Weaver is a tree advocate, striving for the best outcome that integrates, protects and promotes arboriculture. With 25 years of experience that includes Local Government, Curator of the National Arboretum of NZ, Consultancy, Technical Sales and Business Development in the UK, NZ and Australia. Currently working for the City of Perth, WA as the Coordinator for Arboriculture, Martin manages 18500 trees throughout a 20 sq km highly engineered environment and WA’s oldest recognised formal Parks.

Abstract: WA is in transition to management of the PSHB incursion, what does that mean? This dynamic change is still currently fluid and will more than likely pivot prior to the 2026 Arb Aus Hobart Conference. Regardless of the red tape and technicalities, Martin will provide further updates following on from the 2025 Canberra Conference on the expectations set by Federal and State, what is happening on the ground and the actual and further potential impacts into the future.
